“Grand Mozart”

Experience an afternoon of musical grandeur as the Prescott Chorale opens its 2025–2026 season with a Prescott first: Mozart’s Grand Mass in C Minor. Majestic, powerful, and deeply moving, this masterwork stands alongside the greatest sacred choral works in history – Bach’s Mass in B Minor and Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis.

A true musical milestone, the Mass in C Minor is Mozart at his most transcendent—soaring melodies, dramatic choral passages, and virtuosic solos crafted for the opera stage. Though Prescott audiences have thrilled to the Chorale’s performances of Mozart’s Requiem and Vespere Solennes de Confessore, this monumental Mass has never before been performed here – until now.

Joined by internationally acclaimed soloists from the grand opera stage and a full orchestra, the Prescott Chorale invites you to witness the splendor and spiritual intensity of one of Mozart’s final large-scale works. Don’t miss this unforgettable afternoon of musical history in the making.

One afternoon only. One masterwork. One unforgettable experience.

Performing: The voices of the Prescott Chorale, Special Soloists and Full Orchestra.
Venue: Ruth Street Community Theater | 1050 Ruth St, Prescott, AZ 86301

“Christmas Is Coming!”

Step into the warmth and wonder of the season with Christmas Is Coming, a joyful two-concert celebration presented by the Prescott Chorale. Held in the beautiful setting of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, this treasured holiday tradition offers two distinct performances filled with music, magic, and merriment for all ages.

Friday Evening…
Begin your holiday season with a majestic evening of sacred and seasonal music. The heart of the program is J.S. Bach’s brilliant Magnificat—a luminous setting of the Song of Mary, filled with divine joy and Baroque splendor. This masterpiece perfectly captures the reverence and radiance of Christmas. The program also includes beloved carols and choral works that evoke the peace, hope, and glory of the season, performed with the Prescott Chorale’s signature excellence and holiday spirit.

Saturday Afternoon…
Celebrate the lighter side of Christmas with a festive, family-friendly matinee featuring the Prescott Chorale Children’s Choir, directed by Melanie McCally. This heartwarming performance includes favorite carols, joyful surprises, and cherished holiday tunes that will delight both the young and young-at-heart. And of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus will make a special appearance to share the joy of the season.
After each performance, you’re warmly invited to continue the celebration at the Prescott Chorale Christmas Cookie Reception in the Parish Hall—an annual gathering of music lovers, neighbors, and friends sharing sweet treats and holiday cheer.

Two unique concerts. One weekend of wonder.
Join us as Christmas begins—with music that brings us home.

Performing: The voices of the Prescott Chorale, Prescott Chorale Children’s Choir.

“Gospel, Chant & Jazz Mass”

A World Premiere Commission Celebrating 10 Years of Song
Join us for a groundbreaking musical celebration as the Prescott Chorale proudly presents its first commissioned work – a vibrant and genre-defying Jazz Mass composed by Henry Flurry, Artistic Director of Arizona Philharmonic, with libretto by the acclaimed Anthony Silvestri.

This bold new composition marks a thrilling artistic milestone for the Chorale and offers audiences a rare opportunity to experience the world premiere of a major choral work. Infused with the soul of gospel, the mystery of chant, and the electricity of jazz, this is sacred music re-imagined in a fresh, innovative, and deeply moving musical composition. Expect dazzling solos, lush harmonies, and a dynamic jazz ensemble accompanying the Chorale in a performance that promises both spiritual resonance and musical surprise.

Also on the program is a luminous new short work by celebrated contemporary composer Elaine Hagenberg, known for her emotionally rich and accessible choral writing.

As we close Season 10 with this daring and joyful concert, we also look ahead—celebrating 10 years of Prescott Chorale and ushering in a new chapter of musical exploration and community connection.

Come be part of the beginning. Be part of the moment. Be part of the music.

Performing: The voices of the Prescott Chorale, and Jazz Ensemble.
Venue: Ruth Street Community Theater | 1050 Ruth St, Prescott, AZ 86301
